What DON'T We Do for Our Students: Student Services Writ Large
While a dynamic curriculum and excellent faculty define the soul of a successful GLS program, the heart of our programs often lies in the support services we offer to our students. This workshop will address the diversity of support that GLS programs provide our adult (and, indeed, our increasingly diverse) learners, from academic advising to financial aid, from career counseling to personal counseling. We'll look at models for delivering student support and share effective strategies.

Thinking Global? Incorporating Non-Western Perspectives in GLS Programs
Most programs believe it's important to deal with non-western cultures and global issues, but how to do it? This workshop will present examples of different types of courses and approaches from member programs, ranging from those that are concerned with Euro-American global interests to those that start from indigenous worldviews.

The Un-Magic of Marketing and What It Can Do for Your Program
Marketing GLS programs is not magic. Nor is it simply producing eye-catching brochures, ads, and Web sites. Instead, it's an analytical approach to identifying characteristics of your core students and using that information to reach others who “look like” them. Find out how this is effectively done.
